Description
The barn at Caldecott Farm is a five-stead threshing barn dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded on a brick plinth, which is laid in English bond. The roof is made of corrugated asbestos and has a gabled design. There are two full-height double timber doors on the north side, while the opposing south doors are concealed behind outshuts.
Inside, the barn has close studding and tie beams supported by knuckle braces. The roof, which dates from the late 18th century, includes principals, two tiers of taper-tenoned butt purlins, and collars. Some of the wall studs were replaced in the 20th century. Caldecott Farmhouse is not listed.
