Description
126 and 127 King Street is a pair of shops with accommodation above, dating from the late 17th century and remodelled in the 19th century. The building features a painted brick facade with flint and brick returns, and has pantile roofs, with the rear roof being black-glazed. The plan consists of two parallel gabled ranges.
The facade is three storeys high and has a four-window range. The ground floor contains two 20th-century shop fronts with tall fascia boards. To the left, a segmental arch leads to Row 121. The first floor has two 6/6 unhorned sash windows on the left in flush frames, set under gauged skewback arches. To the right are two similar windows, one with 2/2 sashes and the other with 1/1 sashes. The second floor features three similar sash windows, two being 6/6 and the other 2/2, both with horns. The building has a gabled roof and an internal gable-end stack on the north side.
Under the arch of Row 121 to the south, there are a blocked ovolo-moulded 17th-century doorway and a blocked 18th-century doorway with an eared surround. The interior has not been inspected.
