Description

This is an early 18th-century house, one of a pair with number 43. The house is constructed of stuccoed and colourwashed brick, with a 20th-century pantile roof. It is three storeys and has a dormer attic, with a three-window front. Rusticated quoins mark the corners. The front door, set to the right, is a fielded six-panelled door under a plain overlight, flanked by fluted pilasters supporting a metope frieze and with guttae to the soffit of the door hood. The windows are hornless six-over-six sash windows, with two on the ground floor and three on each floor above. A platband runs along the first floor, and a wide cornice sits below a low parapet. The roof is gabled, with one flat-topped dormer window containing a six-over-six sash. A rebuilt ridge stack is located right of centre. A short length of square-section railings with obelisk finials stands in front of the door. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey, but is likely to contain features of interest.
