Description

No. 13 Tolhouse Street is a house built in 1823. It is constructed of red brick and has a pantile roof. The house is three storeys high and has a two-window facade. A six-panel door is located on the left-hand side, set within a reeded doorcase featuring a reeded frieze and corner roundels. To the right of the door is an eight-over-eight sash window in a flush frame, with a finely-gauged skewback arch above it. The first floor has a similar six-over-six sash and an eight-over-eight sash, also with gauged skewback arches. The second floor contains a three-over-three sash window and a 20th-century top-hung casement. The roof is gabled, with an internal gable-end stack to the north. The rear of the property features a full-height outshut, rebuilt under a catslide roof and with mixed window arrangements, mainly 20th-century top-hung casements. Inside, a stick baluster staircase is present with turned newels.
