Description
This is a house dating to around 1830, constructed of red brick with a gault brick facade, and covered by a slate roof. It is located on High Road in Southtown and Gorleston. The building has two storeys and originally had a four-window front, though the central element is emphasised with projecting side walls that front lower, one-bay lean-to additions. A 20th-century door is centrally positioned to the left, set within a rusticated surround and featuring triple modillions to the hood. There are exposed flush frames and gauged skewback arches over the ground-floor windows. A 2/2 horned sash window is located to the right of the door, with 20th-century replacements above. The side bays are recessed. The left bay contains a 2/2 unhorned sash window to the ground floor and a matching 20th-century replacement above. The right bay has a secondary 20th-century door within a reeded doorcase and frieze, with a shallow modillioned hood. It also contains a 2/2 unhorned sash window to the ground floor, with a similar replacement above. A parapet runs along the roofline. The main roof is gabled with internal gable-end stacks to the north and south. The interior has not been inspected.
