Description
Grange Lodge, North is a lodge cottage located at Heydon Park, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a roof concealed behind a parapet, featuring later pantiled lean-tos. The building is one storey and square in plan. Facing the drive, there is a central doorway with a moulded stucco four-centred arch set in a projecting brick surround. Above the door is a terracotta shield set in a square recess. A small 20th-century casement window has been inserted on the west side of the doorway. To the west, there is a tall central three-light window with chamfered mullions and a transom, also set in a brick surround. A brick string course runs at the base of the plain coped parapet. The chimney stack is located to the north and features two diagonally-set shafts. Behind a screen wall to the north, there are pantiled lean-tos with one and two-light casements that have glazing bars. To the south, there is a short screen wall with half-round coping, and square gate piers with corbelled and stepped caps topped with ball finials, flanking pedestrian and vehicle gateways, which have wooden gates.
