Description
Manor House is an early 17th century building that was extended during the 17th century. It features two wings and a staircase wing to the north, creating an irregular 'E' shape. A flat-roofed 19th century extension is situated between the staircase wing and the northwest wing. The east wing consists of three bays and has an off-center axial stack, a hipped roof to the east, and a parapet gable to the west with a 19th century chimney. There is a 19th century timber porch on the south side, which has a carved barge board.
The northeast wing has a string course at the first floor level and a north parapet gable with two oculi and two 20th century circular windows. It also features triple polygonal chimney shafts with moulded bases. The north gable wall of the staircase wing includes a window with a semi-circular brick arch. The northwest wing has a string course at the first floor level, two oculi in the parapet gable, and two polygonal chimney shafts with moulded bases.
Inside, there is a fine 17th century oak dog leg stair with a balustrade that has square "vase" profile newels and balusters, along with moulded handrails. A fretted timber arch leads to a winding attic stair, which has a balustrade at the top.
