Description

This building is a range of three cottages located at 18, 19, and 20 Silvergate, dating from the 17th century and later, with significant alterations. The cottages are constructed of red brick in English bond and feature a steeply-pitched thatched roof. They are two storeys tall with attics and have a rectangular plan.

The east elevation displays three entrance doors with segmental-arched openings and an irregular arrangement of 2 and 3-light casement windows with glazing bars, with the openings at the north end being rearranged. One first-floor casement window retains its original leaded glazing. The gables are coped and parapeted, with the north gable showing tumbling-in. There is a 2-light attic window in the south gable.

On the west side, there are later lean-to structures, including a first-floor 4-light ovolo-moulded mullion window with leaded glazing. The building has two rebuilt ridge stacks and a lower one-bay pantiled extension to the south.
