Description
The Buckinghamshire Arms Public House is an early 18th-century building located in Blickling. It is constructed of red brick, which is partly colourwashed, and features a pantiled roof that is hipped at the southeast corner. The building has two storeys and attics, with an L-shaped plan.
The facade facing the street consists of six bays, with cross casements that have leaded glazing. There is an off-centre doorway on the left side, which is a two-leaf half-glazed door surrounded by a simple pilastered surround and a canopy. The north gable is shaped and includes an internal chimney stack, along with a moulded brick eaves corbel. A platband runs at the first-floor level, and there is a brick dentil eaves course that transitions to a moulded brick cornice over the three right-hand bays.
The building features three gabled dormers with pebble-dashed cheeks and 2-light leaded casements, as well as two chimney stacks along the ridge line. The return to the southeast is two bays wide and has segmental arches over the ground floor openings. At the rear, there is a later lean-to and a small gabled outshut that includes a semicircular-headed door opening.
