Description
Hemblington Hall is a farmhouse built around 1700. It features red brick construction with steeply-pitched pantiled roofs and has two storeys plus attics, arranged in a T-shaped plan. The principal facade faces north and is symmetrical with five bays. It has sash windows with glazing bars and architraves, along with rubbed skewback arches and plain brick aprons. The central doorway is framed by a moulded and rusticated brick surround, topped with a moulded brick pediment supported by rusticated pilasters. The door itself has raised and fielded panels. The corners of the building are accentuated by rusticated brick pilasters. There are two segmental-headed dormers, each with two-light casements featuring glazing bars. The gables are parapeted with tumbling-in, and there are internal chimney stacks. A 20th-century lean-to on the east gable partially obscures some window openings. A rear wing, likely built slightly later, has a three-window range of 19th-century casements with segmental heads. The layout includes a lobby entrance plan with a central axial stack and a doorway that has a plain wooden surround and canopy, along with plain corner pilasters. There are also two 20th-century gabled dormers.
