Description
Ewings and the adjoining house to the east is a terraced shop and house, now used as an office, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantiled roof. The building has an 'L'-shaped plan with two storeys and attics. The facade consists of four bays, showcasing sash windows with glazing bars and flat brick arches. To the west, there is a 19th-century double shop front that includes a central half-glazed door with glazing bars. The shop window is adorned with semi-circular traceried heads and glazing bars. To the east of the shop front, there is a half-glazed door with a modern fanlight, a timber doorcase, and a projecting cornice. A sash window with a glazing bar is located on the ground floor, featuring a segmental brick arch above it. The first-floor bay above the shop front is blank. The building has a hipped roof with an end stack. At the rear, there is a two-storey range with a four-panel door and casement windows, also under segmental brick arches, along with an axial chimney stack. The building is included for its group value.
