Description
The Gothic House is an early 19th-century house located on Lenwade Street in Great Witchingham. It is constructed from flint with brick dressings and is whitewashed. The building has a hipped pantile roof and features an 'L-shaped' plan with two storeys. The facade consists of three bays, with a central entrance door. This original battened door has a pointed glazed head with 'Y' glazing bars. The openings throughout the house have pointed arched heads, keystones, and brick dressings. The windows are tripartite casements with 'Y' tracery glazing bars. Above the entrance door, there is a simple hood supported by brackets. The house has chimneys on both the north and south sides, which have been rebuilt. There is a later two-storey gabled wing added to the north and a catslide extension at the rear that features 20th-century casements. Additionally, there is a canted bay window and an entrance door on the south wall.
