Description

This barn, located 50 metres north of Thorncroft, dates back to 1756. It is constructed of red brick and thatch, featuring a later lower range to the south. The barn has three sections, with doors facing south and an outshut to the north. There are ventilation slits present. The west gable includes a ventilation slit and a blocked hayloft door, which has a segmental brick arch. At the peak of the gable, there is a date stone inscribed with "I.N. 1756." The gables are parapeted and have tie irons along with moulded brick kneelers. Inside, the roof is supported by butt purlins, wall posts, and braces to the tie beams. The southern lower range is not considered of special interest.
