Description
This is a late 17th-century threshing barn located approximately 30 meters east of Hemblington Hall. It is constructed of red brick and features a steeply pitched roof that is thatched with reeds. The west wall has two pairs of double doors, which are flanked by brick pilasters with moulded tops. There are vent loops in the flank walls and a honeycomb vent in the brickwork of the north gable. The gables are parapeted with tumbling-in. On the east side, there is a lean-to roof covered with pantiles and a hipped two-storey outshut that has a weatherboarded upper storey. The barn has a butt purlin roof with collars to the principal rafters, and tie beams with arch braces that connect to the wall posts. This barn is included for its group value with Hemblington Hall.
