Description
Blo' Norton House is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, with alterations made in the 18th century and later. The building is timber framed with rendered wattle and daub infill, along with brick elements, and features pantiled roofs. The double-gabled facade is two stories high and includes bay windows and sash windows that were added around 1900, which refaced the original 18th-century structure. The brickwork extends to the sides of the house, ending on the west side with an original external stack that has four rebuilt octagonal flues from around 1900, matching those on the east ridge. All roofs are gabled. The core of the house is located at the rear on a brick plinth and has random original casements. There is a cross wing to the north of this range, which was originally timber-framed farm buildings and is now used as a general utility room.
