Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of seven houses, numbered 50 to 62 Bury Road, Thetford. The houses are built of cut flint with gault brick dressings and have pantile roofs. They are arranged in three groups of paired doors, with an additional single house at number 50. The houses are two storeys high, with all windows and doors under segmental arches. The original front doors were from the 19th century, with number 62 retaining its original appearance, featuring two glazed upper panels; the rest have been replaced in the 20th century. There are blind tympana above the doors. Originally, the windows were 2/2 sashes, although only the window to the left of the door at number 54 remains original; the others have been replaced. Above each pair of doors is a blind window, and each house has one window on the first floor. The front has a dentil eaves cornice. The roof is gabled, with five regularly-placed chimney stacks. The north gable wall was rebuilt in the 20th century, and an outshut has been added to the rear. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
