Description
The Explosives Store, located 20 yards southeast of Tudor Lodge, dates from around 1860. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with a square plan. The east front has a raised stepped gable adorned with moulded terracotta ridge pieces and includes a single doorway. The outer slate door is currently lying on the ground nearby, while the inner door is a metal door with ornate hinges and a bolt. Above and to the left of the doorway, there is an enamelled metal notice referencing the Explosives Act of 1875. Inside, the store has a stone flagged floor, a barrel vaulted roof, and slate shelves. Tudor Lodge, mentioned in the address, is not a listed building.
