Description
Potash Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century and later. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring brick and wattle and daub infill, and has a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic in the cross wing, with a pantiled outshut to the left. The main range includes an early 19th century sash window that retains its glazing bars, positioned below a 18th century casement. To the left of the main entrance, there is a 20th century porch next to a renewed casement in the cross wing, with an 18th century casement located above. Both the wing and the main range have gabled roofs; the wing features a drip shelf at the eaves, bargeboards, and an attic casement, while the main range has an off-centre ridge stack that was repaired in 1979. The south gable head is weatherboarded and has an external stack. The west front displays twin gables with bargeboards and mid 19th century sash windows, similar to those found in the main range. Inside, the lounge features chamfered and tongue-stopped beams, along with arched braces supporting the tie beams in the roof.
