Description
Attleborough Lodge is a house built around 1840, featuring a brick exterior with an applied timber frame and clay panels. The building has a plain tiled roof and stands two storeys tall in a Tudor style, with a modified E plan and a cross wing to the left. At the center, there is a two-storey porch supported by square Ionic columns, featuring a 4-centred arch that holds up a bressummer. An oriel window is located on the upper floor, with a three-light casement window below it, all beneath a gabled roof adorned with casped bargeboards. There are two subsidiary full-height bays on either side, also gabled, which contain cross casement windows. The gabled roof of the cross wing includes one three-light cross casement on each floor, with cusped bargeboards. The timbering is not present at the rear of the house. Inside, there is a fireplace flanked by decorated Ionic pilasters and coffered fielded panels in the overmantel, which is inscribed with the year 1843. The fireplace arch has a 4-centred design.
