Description
Foxley Lodge is a former rectory built around 1840. It is constructed of brick and has slate roofs, with a roughly square plan. The building has two storeys and features three bays on each of its three facades. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set beneath skewback arches and are accompanied by stucco aprons. The building is adorned with moulded wooden cornices and plain stucco platbands.
The entrance and courtyard facades have advanced pedimented central bays and plain paired giant pilasters. The entrance is slightly advanced and features an aedicule made up of a pair of stucco Roman Doric pilasters that support a plain entablature. The garden facade includes a narrow central bay defined by a pair of pilasters and has a shallow semicircular headed niche at ground floor level, which features a projecting polygonal statue pedestal. The side bays are fitted with rectangular bay windows that have paired stucco pilasters flanking French windows with margin glazing in the upper lights. The upper storey has sash windows with glazing bars.
