Description
Westfield House is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, constructed of red brick, flint, and pantiles. It stands two storeys high with attics and features a gabled stair tower at the rear. The facade, which is from the mid-17th century, consists of five bays with sash windows that have glazing bars, flat arches, and moulded brick vousoirs. The windows in front of the stack are blocked, while there are sash windows at the rear. The building has a flint plinth and stringcourses on the parapet gables, along with an off-set axial stack and an external gable stack to the right. Inside, the hall and parlour boast elaborate moulded, stopped, and chamfered ceiling beams, and the fireplaces have moulded and chamfered bressummers. A late 18th-century staircase features square balusters and scrolled brackets.
