Gatehouse to aeroplane makers. 1934 by Geoffrey Monro for the de Havilland Aviation Company. White painted reinforced concrete. Flat roof with cantilevered concrete eaves and parapets. Plan: Gatehouse at NE end of asymmetrical multi-foil plan with curved window bays and with later extension at rear (SW). International Modern Style. Exterior:Single storey. Small gatehouse facing entrance with 2 projecting semi-circular bays flanking recessed entrance at centre, the left bay is smaller and on the left hand return there is a third larger semi-circular projecting bay; all with metal frame windows with glazing bars and curved glass and with deeply cantilevered eaves canopy around the whole gatehouse. Later extension at rear (SW). Interior: not inspected. Note: This is the gatehouse to the de Havilland Aviation Company, where many famous aeroplanes were designed including the Tiger Moth, Dragonfly, Mosquito, Vampire and Comet.

Small gatehouse facing entrance with 2 projecting semi-circular bays flanking recessed entrance at centre, the left bay is smaller and on the left hand return there is a third larger semi-circular projecting bay; all with metal frame windows with glazing bars and curved glass and with deeply cantilevered eaves canopy around the whole gatehouse. Narrow linking block to rear (SW) to larger single storey range with concrete coping to parapet and curved corners on SE front with horizontal window bands, the RH (E) corner with later revolving door inserted. Metal frame windows with glazing bars. Interior: not inspected. Note: This is the gatehouse to the de Havilland Aviation Company, where many famous aeroplanes were designed including the Tiger Moth, Dragonfly, Mosquito, Vampire and Comet.
