Description

This is a small 16th and 17th century timber-frame house located on the west side of High Street, Welwyn. It is constructed of painted brick with an old tile and machine tile roof. The building is arranged in three blocks and has only one window facing the street. The ground floor features a casement window with glazing bars, side panels, and decorative floral motifs (paterae). The upper floor has a horizontally sliding sash window. A door is set within a deep recess. A large external chimney stack is prominent on the north gable end.
