Description

The building is a former stable wing at Warren Wood, now used as a riding school, dating from approximately 1860. It is constructed of yellow gault brick with polychrome brick detailing. The design is asymmetrical, arranged around a courtyard. The roofs are covered in patterned slate, with stock brick, black and red brick diaper patterns and chequered courses visible below the eaves. A three-stage saddleback tower is located on the right centre of the building, decorated with similar brick detailing and featuring an oculus in the gable, below which is a sack hoist door. Tile hanging is present on the gables of the centre block and left wing. The building incorporates a canted right end. Ground floor openings have moulded brick cambered arches framing paired double doors with both diagonal and straight panelling. There are assorted chimney stacks in a Tudor style. A forecourt wall features a pierced quatrefoil course and saddleback piers.
