Description

Brewhouse Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-17th century. It has a timber-framed structure with a modern plastered exterior and a plain tile roof, forming an L shape. The original front of the house consists of two bays and follows a lobby entrance plan. The building has two storeys and features a large red brick chimney stack at the ridge, which has a square base and four diagonal and square set joined shafts. The front of the cottage includes three twin casements with one glazing bar each, and there is a central door with flush panels set in a moulded frame. An early 18th-century moulded wooden eaves cornice adds to its character. Inside, there are hearths with chamfered beads on either side of the lobby entrance.
