Description
The former Holy Rood Roman Catholic School is a modest building constructed in 1893 by J F Bentley, with alterations made in 1898 and later. It is built from flint and brick and features a plain tile roof. The structure includes a gabled cross-wing at the west end and a long main range with a rear wing attached to the southeast. The building is one storey high and has three windows on the northwest gable, which includes a tall pair in the center flanked by lower windows, all with stone lintels and brick relieving arches. The center pair has glazing bars and top lights. The main range on the north side has four groups of three glazing bar casements, while the rear wing features a tile-hung gable with a row of four casements. The building is included for its group value.
