Description

No 1A Carey Place is a timber-framed house dating from the 16th to 17th century. It is rendered and features a plain tile roof with a brick eaves stack. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. Originally, it had a jettied design with a two-bay upper hall supported by a tie-beam truss, which appears to be of the lower King-and-Queen strut type. The windows exhibit mixed fenestration, with some including glazing bars.
