Description

Yew Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with an extension added in the late 18th century. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick nogging and some roughcast areas, topped by a tiled roof. The building has a three-bay lobby entry and stands two storeys tall. The central entrance includes a two-panelled door with a hood above it. To the left of the entrance is a three-light casement window that has been extended to five lights, while to the right and on the first floor are three-light casements, all featuring leaded lights. The exposed framing shows large panels and braces, and there is a central axial stack. The left gable end is roughcast, while the right gable end is rendered with weatherboarding above the ground floor and has an attic casement. There is a catslide roof over the original lean-to outshut at the rear right. To the rear left, there is a late 18th-century wing made of whitewashed brick with a gable end stack. Extending further to the rear is a one-storey outbuilding with a slate roof. The interior has not been inspected.
