Description
The Old Bell Public House is a building that dates from the late 17th century and features a timber frame. It was altered in the early 19th century and has large additions from the mid to late 20th century. The original part of the building has stuccoed walls and a steep-pitched machine tile roof. It is two storeys high with attics and has two first-floor flush sash windows with 10/10 panes. There is a central ridge chimney stack with four red brick square shafts and projecting upper courses. The south gable end has a small attic casement. The front extension has a pentice roof, and some original chamfered beams are exposed inside. There is also a late 19th-century wing at the rear to the north, which may include an earlier wing.
