Description
The Red Cow Public House is a building that dates from the 16th to 17th century, featuring a timber frame core. The front is made of red brick and was constructed in the 18th century, with an extension added to the left side in the mid-20th century when the building was reroofed. It has one storey and attics, with five 20th-century glazing bar casements; the right-hand three, including the central door, are in their original openings. The windows have segmental heads, and there is an 18th-century wooden door frame. The roof is covered with plain tiles and is hipped at the left end, with two hipped casement dormers. Inside, there is one timber frame bay in the center of the range, featuring a chamfer-stopped beam that was likely inserted into an earlier structure. The building also has large 20th-century rear extensions.
