Description
The Old Plough Public House is a disused building that dates from the mid or late 18th century. It features a chequered red brick casing, likely covering an earlier structure. The eastern gable end reveals an exposed timber frame with brick infill. The roof is finished with plain tiles. There is a large internal chimney stack on the western gable end and an external 18th-century stack on the eastern end, which was extended in the 19th century. The building has two storeys and includes a floor band. On the ground floor, there are two glazing bar casements flanking a door set in a moulded wood frame from the 18th century. The ground floor windows are blocked and have segmental heads. An early 20th-century porch is present, along with an 18th-century gabled rear extension that has been cased in the 19th century.
