Description

No. 40 Verulam Road is an early 19th-century building featuring two storeys and a slink basement, with two windows. The structure is constructed of red brick, adorned with a pattern of blue headers. It has a low-pitched slate roof with eaves soffit. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set within gauged, flat, red brick arches in stucco lined reveals. The original door is topped with a gauged, elliptical arch and a reeded cornice head, with a blocked fanlight above. A later addition includes a bracketed cornice hood over the door. Additionally, there is a war memorial tablet from the 1914-18 period set into the wall on the right side.
