Description
This is a pair of houses located on the east side of High Street in Sandridge. The core of the building dates back to the 17th century, with a later red brick facade added in the late 18th century. The houses are timber-framed and have a plain tile roof. The front elevation features three regularly spaced 19th and 20th-century windows with glazing bars. The ground-floor windows have slightly cambered brick arches. There are two 20th-century doors, each with a wide, bracketed hood. A late 17th or early 18th-century external chimney stack is situated on the south end of the building; the red brick walling at this end appears to be earlier than the brickwork on the front. The rear of the building displays three 17th and 18th-century gables, which are plastered but retain red brick side walls. The northernmost section of the building is likely the oldest, containing a large internal chimney stack from the 17th century with joined square shafts. A 20th-century lean-to has been added beyond.
