Description

14 and 15 George Street are a pair of buildings dating to the later 18th century, originally constructed as a single house. The buildings are two storeys and have a basement, visible only beneath No. 15. They have a moderately pitched, tiled roof and are constructed of red brick with a brick eaves cornice. The windows are casement windows with glazing bars, set in stucco lined reveals. A modern shop front occupies the ground floor of No. 14. No. 15 features a sash window with glazing bars on the ground floor, set beneath a gauged brick arch. A similar arch is present over the basement window. The doorway has a doorcase comprising fluted pilasters and a cornice hood, but the door itself is modern. Numbers 11 to 16 George Street form a group.
