Description
Vine Cottage is a house that dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It was altered in the mid-19th century when the front was faced in white brick, which is now rendered. The building has a timber frame with roughcast gable ends and a plain tile roof. It is two storeys tall and features three windows, with recessed sashes on the ground floor and glazing bar casements on the upper floor. There is a flush panel door located on the left center. To the left, there is a lean-to extension that has a similar door and window. Both doors are adorned with picturesque mid-19th century wooden Tuscan porches that have cusped barge boards. The cottage is said to have been the Dun Cow Public House, according to the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England typescript.
