Description
The Chequers Public House is a 16th-century building that was altered in the late 17th century. It features a roughcast exterior with a red brick base and a hipped old tiled roof, along with a coved cornice. The structure has two storeys, with the first floor oversailing on five brackets. There are five sash windows with moulded flush frames, while the ground floor windows do not have glazing bars. On the south elevation, there is a cut bracketed door hood and four sash windows. Inside, there are fragments of 15th-century wall painting in the bedroom.
