Description
The former bath house, located immediately south of number 81 High Street in Barkway, is now used as a garden shed for that property. The foundation stone indicates it was built in 1867 by the Hon. Mrs. Vernon Harcourt. The building is constructed of white brick with red brick diapering on the front and features a slate roof. It has a small rectangular shape with the gable end facing the road, which includes a small window above the foundation stone. Moulded brackets support the bargeboards. The entrance is located on the left side towards the front and consists of a plank and muntin door with a chamfered surround. At the rear, there is a stack on the right slope, topped with red brick capping and an octagonal terracotta pot. The building is listed for its historical and social interest.
