Description
Pebbles Square is a row of five cottages dating from the mid to late 17th century, positioned at right angles to the road. They are constructed with a timber frame, roughcast exterior, and have tiled roofs with brick chimneys. The cottages are two storeys high, each featuring two windows and a door. Most of the ground floor windows are three-light timber casements, while the first floor windows are primarily Yorkshire casements. There are two axial ridge stacks at the gable ends, with two additional stacks evenly spaced between them, one of which is located left of centre and is cross-axial. Each end of the row has a single-storey lean-to extension, but there are no rear extensions. The right gable displays a decorative bargeboard. Inside No. 1, there is an inglenook and chamfered floor joists. The first floor may have originally jettied and been underbuilt later. In No. 2, a post from the original front wall remains, complete with a mortice for a wall plate.
