Description
Long Bailey is a house that was formerly two cottages, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with 20th-century extensions. The building is constructed of red brick with vitrified headers that encase a timber frame and features a tiled roof. It has one and a half storeys. The central entrance is adorned with a 20th-century brick porch and is flanked by two timber casements on each side, each with segmental brick arches above. The eaves cornice is dentillated brick. There are cross axial ridge stacks with oversailing courses and three 20th-century dormers. The house has been extended similarly in brick to both the left and right, and there is a small rear extension. Inside, there are chamfered floor joists and re-used timbers that feature decorative carving, including diamond lozenges and an ovolo moulding.
