Description
The New Found Out Public House, located at 181 Stevenage Road, is believed to have originally been the Pest House. It dates from the 17th to 18th century and features a red brick gabled north wing alongside a modern south wing. The north wing is two storeys high with attics, characterized by diagonal brick gables and a band that runs below and extends over the upper storey window on the side elevations. The roof is tiled and includes a gabled dormer on the southeast side. The south gabled front has a partly blocked original window in the gable and a large upper storey window opening with a cambered head, which is partly filled in, along with a window opening on the ground floor. The northwest side has two very large blocked upper storey windows.
