Description

The barn at The Maiden's Public House is an 18th-century structure located to the rear of No. 69 on the south side of High Street in Whitwell. It features a timber frame that is dark weatherboarded and has a steeply pitched thatched roof, which is covered with black corrugated iron. The barn consists of four tall bays and is positioned against the western boundary of the property, facing east. It has double doors and the interior includes unjowled posts and a clasped-purlin roof supported by slender spars for the thatch. This barn is included in the listing for its group value.
