Description
This is a late 17th-century house, with a larger 18th-century outbuilding, now converted into two separate houses, numbered 3 and 5, located on Church Path in Ickleford. The houses are arranged in a long range facing east alongside the path. Number 3, the southern house, has a roughcast exterior and a steep roof covered with old red tiles. Number 5, the northern house, features a ground floor constructed of chequered red and black brick, a timber-framed first floor with plastered panels, and a slate roof. The north gable end of Number 5 is stuccoed.
Number 3 is a 1 ½-storey building with three gabled dormers along the eaves. It has four two-light casement windows and a panelled front door located in the northern half of the building. A lower, 1 ½-storey extension is set back at the southern end. Number 5, a two-storey building, has casement windows, and a series of carpenter’s assembly numbers are visible along the thin studs facing the front.
