Description

Greenfield Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with a rear extension added in the 1980s. It features a timber frame on a stuccoed plinth, with brick casing that is now painted, and steep old red tile roofs. The house is 1 and a half storeys tall, with a two-cell layout and an end chimney plan, facing south. It has a gabled rear wing that is slightly taller. The entrance leads into a heated west room, with space for a stair beside a large internal west gable fireplace. There is an external east gable chimney from the 18th or 19th century that originally served an unheated east room. The south front has two gabled dormers at the eaves, two flush two-light casement windows, and a plank door with a tiled gabled porch.
