Description

This is an early 19th century building on the south side of Tilehouse Street. It is constructed of red brick with an old tiled roof and features a modillioned brick cornice and a parapet with stone coping. The building is two storeys high. A slight recess on the right-hand side contains an elliptical carriage arch. There are two-over-one sash windows with glazing bars, set within reveals and topped with cutter flat arches. The original shop front has been slightly altered and incorporates Doric pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. It forms a group with numbers 1 to 6 (consecutive), 8 to 17 (consecutive), 19 to 32 (consecutive), and 35 to 40 (consecutive) on Tilehouse Street.
