Description

Paynes Park House, located at 2 Paynes Park and 8 West Alley, is an early to mid-19th century building. Constructed of red brick, it features a hipped roof covered with Welsh slate and a wide eaves cornice. The building is two storeys high, with projecting sections to the front on the left and to the right of the centre. It has a regular pattern of 1:2:1:1 sash windows in reveals, each with a flat arch above. Arched panels are set into the ground floor windows to the left and right of the centre. The front entrance has a six-panel door, surmounted by a rectangular fanlight with decorative glazing bars, set within a fielded panelled reveal and surrounded by a frame consisting of Doric half columns under an entablature. A modern window has been inserted.
