Description

Hitchin Museum is an early 19th-century building that was enlarged in the mid-19th century. Originally a moderately sized private house set in grounds, it features a stucco exterior and a Welsh slate roof with a cut bracketed cornice. The building has two storeys with a recessed centre, a two-storey bay on the right, and a similar semi-octagonal bay on the left. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and the right side has a round-arched window. There is a balustraded parapet on the southeast side elevation.
