Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory built around 1870 in a polychrome Gothic style. It features white brick with chequered red and black brick dressings and has a plain tile roof. This large L-plan building has two storeys, with each elevation displaying groups of lancet windows framed by black, white, and red brick gauged arches, along with continuous chequered bands. The front of the building has two gable ends, with the right gable featuring four first-floor lancets and three on the ground floor. There is a door with original planks and a chamfered frame, and a gablet on the right side that has two blind lancets.
To the front right, there is a 1½ storey outbuilding, likely a dairy, which has twin lancets and plank doors. At the rear, the Rectory includes a large two-bay wing on the right side, where the left side has four lancets on each floor, and the right side features a canted lancet bay on the ground floor and triple lancets on the upper floor. All windows are fitted with original metal frame casements. Inside, the building retains chamfered door arches and frames, as well as an original dog-leg staircase. The Old Rectory is included for its group value.
