Description
Far End is a house that dates back to the 16th century, with a 19th-century brick southern part. The building features a timber frame that is roughcast, along with a roughcast brick casing on the ground floor and a red brick southern section. It has steep old red tile roofs. The house is two storeys tall and has a two-cell internal chimney plan, facing west. There is a full-height southern extension with its gable facing the road, and a narrower hip-roofed northern extension. A very large square chimney is topped by four square shafts arranged in a diagonal cruciform configuration, with an internal chimney in the southern gable. The southern extension has a higher ground floor level, giving it one and a half storeys in some areas, similar to the older part. The entrance is located on the west side, featuring a plank door at the southern end of the older section. This part has two sets of two-light transomed casement windows on the ground floor and two casement windows on the first floor, along with a small window aligned with the chimney. The southern extension has a two-light ground floor window on the west side, and the eastern side features two gabled dormers at the eaves.
