Description
Crouches is an early 17th century cottage with a 19th century cross wing extension, which has been restored. The main range is timber framed, while the cross wing to the right is made of brick, and both are plastered. The house features a steeply pitched tiled roof, which was originally thatched on the main range. There is a brick axial stack aligned with the entrance. The building has one storey and an attic on the left side, with a plank door entrance, a two-light casement window, and a gabled dormer on the left, along with a single light casement window on the right. The purlins and wall plate are visible in the left gable, where a window has been inserted. The gabled cross wing is two storeys high and has three-light casement windows set in deep reveals under shallow arches, with bargeboards facing the street. There is also a further lean-to extension to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
