Description
The forecourt walls, entrance gates, and clair-voie immediately south of Julians were built between 1937 and 1939 for Colonel R. Cooper. The walls are made of red brick and stand about 2 meters high, featuring moulded Portland stone coping. They extend away from the house and include a low stone-coped brick plinth that supports a wrought iron clair-voie facing the house. There are quadrant spur walls at the far angles. The flanking side gates and the entrance gate at the far angles are supported by ashlar piers, which have rebated corners except for the side gate piers that are panelled. The piers have moulded caps and bases, with ball finials on the side and entrance gate piers, and urn finials at the ends.
